I'm pleased everyone enjoyed the gala, it all went well as far as I'm aware. There was a slight delay as already mentioned due to a 'points failure' where it wasn't showing correctly locked. Simply a technical sticking type thing which was easily sorted so I'm told.

Today (Monday) Clan Line had the run of the whole 10 miles to herself so that her support crew could have a bit of a play and to allow some professional photography.

A little bit of editing on this shot I took at Alresford to add 34046 creating a trio of Bulleids....

A wonderful weekend at the MHR for their gala event - probably the best conditions I'll get for filming this year. Was nice to see Met 1 have a good weekend with some very spirited runs up the bank to Ropley, it was great to see 34046 get out on it's own properly this time and made a good sound up to Medstead, but the star of the show (by a country mile!) was 35028 with it's wonderful 3 cylinder gallop. It simply thundered over the Alps, even with 5 coaches.

I think it's clear to see from my video that 35028 is my favourite locomotive on the 'circuit', 17 shots in all of her alone, cut down into one feature section at the start of my film... and I haven't even mentioned the soundtrack video yet! :)

A huge thank you to everyone at the MHR, as well as the support crews from the MNLPS, LSL and Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. The videos from the event are below, including the list of locations for the main video.

35028: Alresford Cattle Dock, Leaving Alresford, Bishops Sutton, Bighton Hill, Northside Lane crossing, Green Lane, White's Wood, Ropley, Bowers Grove Wood, Bowers Grove Lane, Rookwood, Horse Lane*, Grosvenor Lane, Station Approach (Medstead), Boyneswood, Bricklin Lane, Alton (17 locations)
34046: Parkside Lane, Green Lane, Ropley (x2), Rookwood, Horse Lane, Wanders Curve and Horse Lane (8 locations)
Met 1: Alresford, Bighton Hill, Northside Lane crossing, Parkside Lane, White's Wood and Ropley (6 locations)
34007: Alresford, Bighton Hill, Northside Lane crossing, Green Lane, departing Ropley, Rookwood, Horse Lane (7 locations)
92212: Rookwood, Ropley, Northside Lane (3 locations)
    31806+92212: Approaching Ropley (1 location)
31806: King's Pond, Butts Junction, Bricklin Lane, Rookwood, Green Lane and Bighton Hill (6 locations)
    31806+850: Horse Lane (1 location)
850: Horse Lane, Green Lane and Rookwood (t/f) (3 locations)
925+850: Old Park Wood (1 location)
925: Alton, Rookwood and Alresford (3 locations)

What a great day Saturday was from 35028 on the first up to the last down service. It was certainly the star of the show but the best run of the day was an up out of Alresford behind 31806. Oh how I'm going to miss her!

The weateher was superb and although there was a points failure at the beginning of the day, the staff were very informative and the service didn't fall apart. Well done again one and all.

A special thanks to the volunteer at Alresford who kindly got me the shot I was after. Certainly went the extra mile and really didn't have to.

    Photos now uploaded to flickr.

A cracking day on Sunday. With three Bulleids - an original plus two "de-tuned" versions - in action it had the feel of a Summer Sunday during the Bournemouth electrification with diversions over the Alps. The BBLS fund raising stall did well too. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

Glad to hear the lads did well! :)

They certainly had a well stocked and laid out stall.

    Nice pic's BTW!

Wonderful video of a wonderful weekend James. My Dad and I make a brief appearance at 1 min 48 secs. taking shots of 35028 in the Cattle Dock.
The Gala certainly ranks as one of the best the MHR have staged. Great SR line up utilised on a well worked out timetable. Roll on the October Western Region themed Gala!

Popped into Alton early this morning (Tuesday) to see Clan Line leave. Met 1 cold at Ropley in preparation for leaving, Braunton has been in and out of the wheel drop shed for some light maintenance and is being kept warm.

Ta very much :) Well, I mentioned soundtrack video in my first comment, and here is the link - it's not the best recording, but the noise as 35028 is opened up out of Alton is not too shabby!

Also included here are a few of my favourite photographs from the weekend, my personal favourite being 35028 climbing over Grosvenor Road (as seen at 13:58 in the film)....

It does help when you have the first 3 days of good weather of the year? Although I am sure the England rugby game kept some away on the sunday.
