Went to Both Galas on Saturday ...
    Great time !

E2A - accompanied the oldest ex-employee, who started at Hunslet Engine Co in 1933 at the tender age of 14. He had a great time. as well.

Snippet from his memories - Ah, I remember Jack Lane, also known as John Lane on Sundays ...

Went to Middleton today- lovely place to visit as usual. Really friendly staff and volunteers and a great venue. Shame there wasn't a bit more made of the Jack Lane mini-venue- we walked back to Moor Road after about 15mins as there was very little to see. Timetable sadly went to pot pretty early on so was difficult to keep track of movements- we only had one trip on the line- there seemed to be a disproportionate amount of time sat at a standstill rather than moving!

Really enjoyed my trip there on Sunday. Pity in clashed with the Foxfield gala but an 150 years gala only comes along once in my lifetime. Nice to see so many friendly volunteers there as well plus the weather picked up nicely as well. Well done all !!
