Endon Hearing Care Centre seems to occupy at least part of it. There's also a doctors' surgery in a new building next door. The land on the other side of the tracks, where the sidings used to be, seems to be unused.

This land was I believe was sold by BR to someone who wanted to build a house, but could not get permission to build it.

If there has been a planning application the owner of the land (at that time) can be found from inspecting the application. Otherwise one can make a Land Registry search for a fee.

Not really that interested John, only replying to the question. It's up to the MCR to do that if they are interested.

Noticed today on the webcam that the S160 was being steamed up, I suppose for her steam test, is anyone aware if it has happened yet, or when it will be?.

While I am not a big fan of the S160 I hope it will be running soon as I am worried that we have no steam now that 5199 has departed (or will be soon). Plus the failing of George leaves us with no steam at all.

Maybe we can hang on to 45379 a little longer?

Am I right in thinking that CVR will be down to 6046 and 33102 in a couple of weeks? The 104 looked like it was having some work done on it. Not a good situation to be in.

The DMU is serviceable, think they were just doing work whilst they had a chance.
    5199 leaves tomorrow :(
45379 is staying till the middle of March I believe (think her last day of service is 11th)
6046 is hopefully not going to be too far away (she did steam on Sunday)
33021 is serviceable, 102 is still undergoing an overhaul in C&W.

Just a routine exam. The 104 is still performing - its 8th season since restoration.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm not the first person to get the numbers of the 33s mixed up!

I suppose we should be thankful that we have not got all of these 4, 33012 33021 33102 and 33201 it could be a bit confusing.

I was told that Black 5 45379's last day in service is Wed 14th March.

Well it's abit sad that 5199 has to go, but will be nice to see her in April at Llan! Good bye for now '51 :( .

Is it known whether the CVR has any plans to hire in an additional loco over the main season this year? For recent years there has been at least two locos available, but with 5199 departing and presumably the loss of 44767 too, the S160 could be the only available power.

The yard at Cheddleton looks busy today on the CVR webcam and the S160 is still in steam there.

Froghall to Cheddleton linewalk today. Just a nice gentle walk on a nice gentle day, with the Black 5 running on an education day. Not much wrong with the line a few keys out, a few seized fishplate bolts and a couple of odds and ends. So I took 3 photos of the engines instead, the first one outside the shed before we started with the S160 in the picture. The second at Froghall with the Back 5. The last one as we finished, with the Black 5 running past, the S160 was back in the shed by then. Could be the last time we see these engines grouped together.

As has been stated before (but I can't find it right now), the petition is due to be determined in March by the County Council.

I see from the webcams that 45379 is not running the Cauldon Lowe service today. Is there a problem?

Today's Cauldon Lowe specials were ran by Class 33021 "Captain Charles", this was due to a Steam locomotive failure this morning at Cheddleton MPD. Photographs from today @

What happened to the Black 5 today?
