    Hopefully when Linda returns it will have regained some of the charm lost in the Girdlestone era. At least that awful smokebox handrail has gone in the skip and most things could be rectified without too much difficulty.

    To put the ALCO back to original condition would be a lot more difficult. A new boiler, cylinders, cab and bunker are some of the larger items required, also it wouldn't fit up the FR plus there's two more in original condition already. There's only 1 Barge.
