    Hi John,

The size used to be very high, not sure as i don't have files to hand but it is lasting longer now as i am converting RAW files now i use a DSLR. That means that as you say they are about 500kb.

I have 7620 photos on there,i wouldn't like to delete any of them tbh so i will just keep plugging away at it.

I simply convert the file and upload it (non of this photoshop business as i no longer have it!).

@Belle,ta for that, will keep my eyes peeled. Although its more a case of if and when,if i need to spend 20 quid i will have to lol

    Cheers,
    Mark

Personally I got SO fed up with Fotopic and their lack of development and complete disregard to problems such as the counter issue that I moved to Zenfolio. The cost is about the same as the Premium Fotopic offer but it is far better looking and the support is superb. They also offer an unlimited amount of space and it seamlessly integrates with Google Analytics. My site is here: http://class50.zenfolio.com/

If you decide to give it a go then use the coupon code: JR5-ZS7-R9Z which will save you $5.00 on the quoted prices.

Your site certainly looks a lot better than a fotopic website, the only thing i am a little unwilling to do is move away from fotopic,i want to make my collection on there as big as possible and hopefully keep it going in one place for as long as i can, what i suppose is post my best photos say in monthly order, I.E January,Feb etc etc.

    Top site!

    Cheers,

I don't have a fotopic site, but as a viewer, I've become increasingly frustrated with them. I tend to use the search function to find a particular working or loco and see what images people captured. Unfortunately, the search function frequently doesn't work at all, or takes so long, that it is just a frustrating waste of time.

There is a definite trend that's seeing photographers moving away from fotopic, but to a good variety of other photo hosting sites; flickr, smugmug, etc. This is a shame as despite fotopic never being a particularly great hosting site (IMHO), it was something of a standard for railway enthusiasts and now there's the danger that with everyone scattered all over the net, it'll be harder to find a particular photographers work, and browse a variety of photographers efforts at capturing a specific working or loco. Unfortunately, it takes 'google images' so long to index, and it often seems not to index images from the photo hosting sites, that it isn't an option. It would be good if railway enthusiasts could find another standard 'home' for their images, if fotopic don't get their act together, but sadly it looks like we'll soon be scattered all over the net.
