As there is no thread I thought I would start one. 1st guest announced as D49 Morayshire.

I know absolutely nothing but I assume at least some of the following home locos will also run:

    B12 8572
    Y14 7564
    9F 92203
    Standard 4 76084
    Ring Haw 1982

Don't forget B1 61306. That's 4 LNER machines. I'd love to see the K1 and K4 complete the line up. Or the other B1...I might have to lie down now

I believe the B1 is on tour with Steam Dreams from Feb to May. The organisers will comment further with the line up in due course I am sure.

boo sucks I couldn't make the Autumn gala and would love to see the B12 and B1 together in (albeit different) apple green. I'm sure it'll be a good day out, whatever the star attractions. The J15 backdatedto Y14 in GER blue should be quite a sight

The NYMR's 50th anniversary of closure is on these dates (actually 6th March) and the K1 & K4 will be there, I'm afraid, just as they were on that day 50 years ago. Add 60007, 63395 & 61264 to the mix, as well. Don't miss it!

Very much looking forward to my first visit to the NNR for the gala, though I do have a couple of questions.

Can anyone advise if the NNR releases a locomotive roster before the event? Or can you buy one before the gala starts, maybe with tickets?

There was no roster before the event on the only one I have attended which was September 2013 .I got it on the day when I purchased a ticket.

Thanks Paul, ah right, so it doesn't sound like there's a roster available before hand. I had a look through previous threads after I sent that last post, and it does seem as though the NNR don't publish them. Oh well, it's more fun not knowing what's on the next train! :) Will probably purchase a roster when I'm there, but that first morning could be rather entertaining as you try and figure out what loco is on each diagram.

I remember reading one online once and I didn't have to pay. It wasn't that long ago.

Just had a read of the NNR website and there's no mention of the Y14 on the steam gala page. A shame if it isn't going to be back in time for the gala, but I still think this is a rather good line up... rather looking forward to seeing 76084 and 62712 in particular.

Y14 has now been withdrawn from the event.
    Statement here: http://www.nnrailway.co.uk/page.php?pid=40

Does anyone know if any of the smaller locos (Wissington, Ring Haw or the Y7) will be working at the weekend?

Saw a few comments on Facebook... I think the plan is they'll be running Wissington and the vintage set, with a possible appearance by the Y7. (Although the Y7 would be paired with Wissington in either top and tail or double headed mode, so won't be on its own.)

A generous approach, giving loco allocations as well as times, and also goods times, in advance. A great help in planning 'moves'. There haven't been many posts on this gala, which does have competition from North Yorkshire Moors and Llangollen, but it looks a good 'un and the ale is good in those parts. I've booked three nights at Sheringham Youth Hostel. Anyone else staying there?

I really enjoyed my time there today. Nice to see the Y7 shunting the vintage train for Wissingon to take, in Weybourne yard. The vintage train set consists of the pigeon van, M&GN 129 ex GN, and the Wisbech and Upwell tramcar no7, which is at the Holt end and has open balconies, net best thing to a footplate ride up Kelling Bank! The all day breakfast is superb and they do real coffee on the trains and in the station cafes. If you go tomorrow you'll catch the D49, B12/3 double header which should be good...Oh! and they're also running the quad arts and a goods train...All in all a great day out, beautiful scenery and pleasant helpful staff
