With the workshops being officially closed this week, there has been no Carriage & Wagon progress to speak of, however a summary of 2015 has been written instead, which nicely shows how much we have achieved this year.

Carriage & Wagon Review of 2015

This would also be a good page for forum readers who can't be bothered to read the updates week in, week out to view.

Sadly 76084 has come over all poorly so it was 92203 in steam today.

A more than adequate replacement for my visit tomorrow. Mind you, having eaten so much over Xmas, a 9F would probably be about the only thing that could pull me up the bank to High Kelling anyway ;):)

I had a really good day at NNR. The mince pie specials seem to be a success, as a couple of times today I was worried that I wasn't going to find a seat. The new build platform toilets seem to be coming along well at Sheringham and will look completely in keeping with the rest of the station when complete as a lot of effort seems to have gone into matching the original brickwork. Is the other new brick building that is going up on the platform going to be a new gift shop ?

A replacement shop and tourist information desk will be beyond the new toilets. The existing shop will be converted to an extended buffet.

  12. Bay Tree Cottage B&B in Fakenham is excellent, with a breakfast to die for. Only a 20 min drive from both Holt (for NNR) and Dereham (for MNR)

Just had a look at the NNR website and it looks like the summer season running fleet will be the B12, Y14, 76084, Black Prince, 45337 (visiting) and I guess maybe with a bit of luck the WD? Great line up.

Does anyone know what Ring Haw, 44767 and Mayflower are up to for 2016?

Ring Haw is available for traffic, but may get loaned out for at least the high season in 2016 as the NNR don't use Ring Haw on heavier trains unless the unreliability of the rest of the fleet means it's needed.

Mayflower seems to be more of a mainline engine than an NNR one, so I presume it will be out and about during 2016 running tours?

As for 44767, I can only go off rumours but it sounds like it is undergoing repairs in a big way, so the engine may have been left out of the railway's 2016 plan as a result.

It seems she's going through quite a comprehensive overhaul:

Shouldn't 76084 be classed as a visitor, its owners having spoken of plans to move it a railway closer to its owners, who are mostly in the NW?

I'm guessing 76084 will be classed as part of the NNR home fleet until a new location is finalised and she actually leaves.

I'm under the impression since Mayflower became based at the NNR it has spent very little time there due to main line commitments and perhaps due to the NNR being quite well off on the steam motive power front currently. But maybe Mayflower could be handy for the Cromer services?
