North Norfolk Railway General Discussion

Discussion in 'Heritage Railways & Centres in the UK' started by NNR Engineer, Apr 15, 2011.

It's interesting you say that, it has only occurrd to me that railbus E79960 five year contract with the ribble steam railway will be coming to an end in spring/summer 2017. Maybe not steam but still east anglia connection could, might return to north norfolk. Though the NRM's DMU 101693 has if I'm right a 5 year contract as well. We'll see what happens.

I note the access hatch just happens to have taken out the high intensity headlamp on the midland 101

Three subs completed, just the last one to finish off I believe.

Just a quick message to say we took my nephew on the Santa Express. One very excited 4.5 year old and 2 happy adults. Well done to all the volunteers and staff who made it such an enjoyable trip

I'd second that, we did it with our 9 year old girl on the 21st. Very enjoyable experience and the best Santa we've done. Love the new footbridge too, can't wait for the one to go in at Holt.

Any idea what the loco is? Impromptu day off and If it's something worth getting the red pen out for I'd like to know! Eg A certain green 4-6-0 or a blue 0-6-0! Websites for both decent sized railways in Norfolk are useless this evening as regards trying to find out what's running tomorrow.

Thankyou, nothing against 9F's and I do rather like them but not worth an early morning call and 3 changes of trains! Maybe just a day in Ely to be had.

If the 9F is on then I am definitely going to trek up the A11 tomorrow for a visit to the North Norfolk Coast. Excellent news.

Nice to see the, 101 coming along. Guarded it many times when it was at the ELR.

Just read over on another thread that N2 1744 will be on the line this Summer, with the aim of working the Sheringham to Cromer dinner services at some point.

Anyone know if the N2 is just visiting for the 2017 season, or is it a longer term loan?

Isn't there a possibility of a change of livery at some point too?
