Class 37 D6732 has done its first run from Sheringham to Holt after overhaul and just needs some paint!
Also the NNR have set up a Facebook Page for Diesel Loco's Weybourne Traction Group | Facebook

There is 'something' about this railway though. Perhaps its because it crams in a lot of different scenery in a short distance ? Despite having the choice of many nearer Gala's to go to every year, the NNR Gala is always the first I add to my list. Reading the comments its clear that a few of the ordinary visitors would like it to be just a little closer to Holt Village, something they will hopefully address in the long term.

What happened to it on Saturday? Both it and 7564 were booked to be out according to the website but it was 92203 and 8572 instead :eek:hwell:

Obviously all locos are subject to availability undergoing a daily examination every morning and every evening when they've finished for the day. If the loco isn't fit to run and needs work doing to it or it needs a washout then it won't run that day. The website does state that all locos are subject to availability.

Yes, I fully understand that "stuff" can happen but surely something like a washout is planned in advance?

PS: What did the diesel turns on Saturday? I notice that the website had changed during the week to show the 25 rather than the DMU but I could not stay around that long to find out.

Could anyone from he railway help me with some coach identifications? Unfortunately they are from previous visits to the line just to make things more complicated!

The first is an Olive Green departmental coach (looks like a BSK or similar conversion to me) which was to be found on the line in summer 2006. Research would suggest it moved on from the line as none of the current listed fleet seems to match it.

The second (possibly easier) is a coach that was deep in Weybourne Works in August 2010. Clearly undergoing a full rebuild, it was completely stripped (floor and all) and was being reconstructed, so I can only imagine it was there for some months (years?). It had "E4372" written on the end but I believe this coach doesn't exist so it must be something else. Judging by the severity of the repairs I presume it is now one of the NNR's freshest Mk1's, but any ideas which?

I have attached images of both the coaches...

The olive green Mk1 is BSK 35341 and is used as a store / strategic spare. Painted green to blend in with the countryside a bit better than the faded Royal Mail livery.
The Mk1 in many pieces is indeed SO E4372. It think it has now been finished and is part of the dining set in blood and custard. This was as the GCR(N) and came to the NNR a few years ago.

Excellent video Some very good shots from unusual locations Did you you film from the gazebo in Sheringham Park ? I suppose the star of the gala had to be Tornado. but my favourite ,the J 15 looked good, sounded great and performed very well .Anybody know why the stove pipe chimney has been replaced ?
