Yes James, both vehicles have full height partition walls in the centre. See StoneRoad's post above for links to his comprehensive photos of the restoration of both vehicles

Thanks for that it makes sense now ! I thought it was a bit weird that all the photos seemed to be of the end walls :)

In NSR61 the central bulkhead is vertical planks and the internal panelling on the ends runs horizontally. Also, new roof-sticks were made.

So, we wait for a century for a Knotty coach and then two turn up !. Photo taken last sat, this was the first time that NSR No's 61 & 127 have met up in preservation in a restored form, Bellerophon looked a treat on the front as it too dates from the 1870's.

Work continues on the lighting, we have lettering to finish, replica chimneys etc before the first passengers in August.

The Trust are in process of finishing plans for the new shed at Foxfield Colliery - it will take 61 & 127 plus NSR 28. NSR 28 is owned by the NSR Co (1978) with whom we are in the final stages of agreeing a 99 year loan. Restoration will take place once the shed is finished, as ever finance is the issue and will determine the rate of progress.

I hope the fund-raising goes well for "Project 28" .......*cough, cough*........... and for the shed/museum and the replica brake.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole rake, in the fullness of time, of course !

The 2 restored coaches will be on public display over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend for a Victorian Weekend.

Bellerophon and Dubs Crane Tank will both be in action over the weekend also.

The next few years will be very interesting, with NSR 28 next, the replica passenger brake and who knows what else may turn up ;-)

I'd still like to see a NSR Single-ended brake van with a NSR flat wagon to display behind the NSR Battery Loco...

The Bolton wagon has almost ceased to be, its owned by Foxfield but could come our way I am sure - would be a start again job. Brake van out of scope - get back to you when the replica passenger brake is done !.

Enough there to restore and a unique survivor !

(looks to be more than what we started with for the two Bowes waggons, and would need less materials, as well)

Some photos of last night's pre-launch evening train. Today sees the official launch of the North Staffordshire Railway coaches to the contributors and supporters and this coming weekend (9th and 10th August) sees their official launch into revenue earning service for the first time in over 100years.

    The train ready to depart.

I expect to visit this weekend but wonder what chance - if any - of seeing Bellerophon and the rake on Foxfield bank - or will it be confined to the normal Caverswall Rd - Dilhorne Park length. A little late I know but I'm sure many would pay extra (charter fee) for a couple of runpasts on the bank so possibly a thought / hope for future Galas ?
