Glad you enjoyed the day on sunday, as for the freight it wasn't cancelled due to a lack of engine it was more due to the lack of a guard, the railway is desperately short of them, and to ensure the service trains could be operated during the day it was decided late on the saturday night to cancel the freight train.

Without doubt the best NYMR gala for some time, despite no Q6 or Super 'D'.

My film of the Saturday the 7th of this event is now on YouTube. Locations are Park Gate (near to Newbridge), Levisham, Moorgate, Bridge 30, Goathland and Grosmont. Locos featured are 6619, 76079+71000 Duke of Gloucester at Park Gate, 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley+Planet and 76079 at Levisham, with 45407, 44767, 92214 Cock of the North and 82072 at the other locations. It includes four sequences of the freight train and 71000 hauling the Evening Dining Train out of Grosmont.

I hope everyone enjoys it, the gala was certainly one of the most successful I've attended.

    Regards

In fact I have been holding around 50% back on most events this year. More info will follow when I have finalised the details, however I intend to still keep you tube going with our regular films.

I think I took far too much footage, but here is an edited short clip for 71000 fans (spot the differances, or editors use of licence) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzbgtp2vkrg

Also @ Pennysteam - thank you for some memorable footage shared.
