A couple of shots from the “scrap” pile. The first is an image recovered from the few transparencies that failed the quality control at the time and did not make the collection but avoided the waste paper bin. The second is very poor image from my first Freedom of Scotland Railrover in 1972 uploaded purely for its subject matter rather than form of photographic skill.

My “summer holiday” in 1978 was a First Class Eastern Region Railrover and I had stocked up with 35mm transparency film for the week ahead. Or so I thought because when it came to processing the week’s photography I realised that one roll of film was in fact a colour print film!!! Here are a couple of shots from that roll of colour print film taken in the early morning at Norwich.

My early attempts at Rail photography were black and white using a Haminex point and shoot camera of dubious quality. My early uploads from this period were scans from a set of prints however I now have located the negatives and I am slowly rescanning these uploads from the original negative. In this little collection are three shots from a visit to Stratford circa 1974, two are rescans and one is uploaded for the first time.

My early attempts at Rail photography were black and white using a Haminex point and shoot camera of dubious quality and in this collection is a shot from a visit to Stratford circa 1974. I then moved on to 35mm colour transparencies using the same Haminex camera and in this collection is an early colour shot from 1975. Finally a shot from a colour print film taken on my first “overseas” business trip to Northern Ireland.
