    Of note are the seventy shunting locomotives seen compared with the handful you would find today and the sixty nine class 37’s the staple local trip engine at that time. Also of note are the class 25 which were allocated to the area at that time and 1200 Falcon the Brush prototype locomotive which ended its days on local freight duties allocated to Newport.

    I photographed a number of these engines above in later life and they can be seen in this collection.
