An all steam service will operate on the Kent & East Sussex Railway on the 27th and 28th December and 1st January 2015. GWR 0-6-2 6619 will haul her last trains before withdrawal for 10 yearly overhaul, including the final trip of the season, the 15:30 trip from Tenterden on New Years's Day. This will also be the last opportunity to photograph the loco facing away from Tenterden as she will be turned to face Tenterden during her overhaul. It is quite likely that it's also the last chance to see 6619 in BR black as her livery following overhaul is yet to be decided but may well change.

The previously advertised DMMU services on the above dates will now be operated by Terrier 32678 hauling two Southern Region green coaches.

What could be better than getting out after Xmas for fresh air laced with a bit of hot oil smoke and steam? Hayling Billy.jpg

USA No 65 substituting for failed 6619 today (Sun). Rocking grate on 6619 jammed open on disposal on Saturday. 6619 should be in service on New Year's Day for her final day before overhaul.

Delightful photo by Alan Crotty taken today. The same formation is running on New Year's Day as well as 6619's final day in traffic before overhaul. Not to be missed!
