    'PURBECK EXPLORER' MAINLINE CHARTERS

    IMPORTANT UPDATE

    In conjunction with this years annual Diesel Gala and Beer Festival,the Swanage Railway is delighted to announce the running of its first ever mainline charters with two 'additional' mainline tours utilising a Class 20 supplied by the Class Twenty Locomotives Limited and a 'mystery' loco hauling London Underground's 4-TC unit.

    'The Purbeck Explorer 1' tour will operate on Weds 7th May with proposed departures times of Castle Bar Park (10:00), picking up at Kensington Olympia (10:40), Clapham Junction (C) (11:00), Wimbledon (11:35) and Basingstoke (12:45) en route to Swanage, arriving late afternoon. Single (one-way) ticket prices are available at £34.50 per person from any pick-up point.

    The second 'Purbeck Explorer 2' tour will depart Swanage late afternoon on Sunday 11th May returning to Basingstoke (approx. 20:00) and then setting down at Reading General (20:35), Ealing Broadway (21:15) then via Neasden Curve and Wembley Stadium to West Ruislip (approx. 21:50). Single (one-way) ticket prices are available at £34.50 per person to any of the stated destinations.

    PLEASE NOTE - BOTH OF THESE TOURS ARE NOW CONFIRMED AS RUNNING AND BOOKINGS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED BY THE SWANAGE RAILWAY VIA THE RAILWAYS RESERVATION DEPARTMENT - 01929 475207

    For all further information on proposed timings and pick up and set down points on the Purbeck Explorers, along with details on the seating arrangements, plus seat reservations please visit the Swanage Railways website. Both of these charters will have limited seating availability so demand is likely to be high, advance reservation is highly recommended.
