  3. Presumably this now means GB goes ahead fully steam as planned?

    Rejoice!!!!

  5. Rejoice that we shall have steam for GB yes, but hardly rejoicing otherwise. Court case still yet to come.

But what powers does the Court have? They can issue great big fines, maybe even put people in gaol, and that's a major worry for the individuals in question, but do they have any powers over the operation of the company?

  7. Who knows what will happen. I for one hope that all is now well and that WCRC will follow all the rulings that have been put into place and that we can move on from here. I certainly dont want another year of steam such as we had in 2015!

Hopefully, but a lot of details are not yet in the public domain. Last time there was a "phased return" - will that happen again? Last time there were tours that were cancelled or postponed after WCRC returned to work because the necessary planning work hadn't been completed with NR, for whatever reason. This time, there's the added complication of tougher route-knowledge requirements for footplate crews. I don't think we can make assumptions about which tours will run as planned, which will be altered, postponed or cancelled. Sadly, more waiting is still required....

I note that the 'Coast to Coast Express' seems to be shifting about a bit. Its gone from 14 to 28 May, and now its moved back to 25 June. I'm interested, and will book in due course, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it goes via Standedge, as I seem to recall that pathing for steam is limited as a result of TPE intensifying its service a few years ago.

Booked the 9th July trip to Weymouth today as RTC sent me a discount code. At the moment the roster is 34046 outward with either 34067 or 35018 hauling the return journey banked by 34046. Fingers crossed at least two of the loco's are available

Steam at the front and another one banking from Weymouth has been advertised in the past but hasn't happened. Anyone giving odds on whether it will happen this time?

You've just posted a 49 minute video on Nat Pres. Exactly what point were you trying to make please that couldn't have been covered in one line of text? And the relevance to the thread is?

Just thinking of the NP server space.....

Never realised it was 49 min long. Just posted a Youtube link (so I thought).
Relevance? The same as others who post Youtube videos on here to prove a point.
Said post duly edited with link to an article instead.

I am hoping that 34046 is definitely on this as I haven't had a good ML run behind her yet. Only ML trip I have had was the very pedestrian journey from the MHR to the Bluebell a few years ago.
35018 has appeared in RTC brochures and SD brochures since the beginning of last year. Will it appear for the SR Anniversary this year? :Nailbiting:
And 34067...........well you never know with her do you?

There seems to be a lot of WCRC-manned tours being piled onto June 25 and heading to or through York. The East Yorkshireman from Man Pic is now taking place that day. RTC are also running the Coast to Coast from Liverpool via Victoria and Diggle. Not only that, there is also 60103 to York via Kettering.

Checking the RTC website indicates that the Coast to Coast trip is close to being fully-booked (only 24 seats left in Premier dining). I'm booked on it, though I am weary that something might give on this trip from an operational perspective. I hope not, though, as it looks to be a good day out whichever way it crosses the Pennines, and it would be nice to see two steam specials at Scarborough. Equally, there's not much room left on the East Yorkshireman.

Fingers crossed, though I feel sorry for anyone who's booked on both and will have to make a decision about which one they run with- luckily aside from Manchester, there is little obvious geographical clash between the two, and if I recall, Huddersfield usually delivers the goods in terms of willing passengers on trips going through Brighouse to Scarborough.

And "The Hadrian" which runs on 2nd July goes over Shap instead of the S&C before returning via the Tyne Valley as originally planned by the looks of it.

I'm glad RTC have sorted these in good time.

RTC's The Tynesider for next Sat 21st May is no longer listed on RTC web site. The one on 11th June is still there though.
