As the mod cc'd on that mail I will say to be fair, I didn't read it the same way, however I did acknowledge recieving that mail from the said person.
I do not believe there was any intention of the said person planning to send the boys round, but more like a bad selection of words on an email.
i think we should keep a sense of perspective. Let's not digress into a culture of undue fear.

Im sure I got a PM a few years ago (prob still at the bottom of my Inbox, would have to check) informing me of one of this persons "other indentities".

I don't think there much point in grassing said person up as I haven't seen said alias post for a while now and im aware said person doesn't always use his regular login so im always carefull to look out for any other possible ones.

I was more asking the question to see the official stance on it and if people were actually aware of it.

Edit: yep on page 2 in my inbox, although it was a different indentity to the one im thinking of, so that's 3 at least...

All I will say on this is

    1) I repeat that our neighbourhood Police officer took it as a veiled threat and recorded it in his notebook, having seen it.

    2) you stated that you and the mod team actually supported what I had written but did not want to upset the third party by saying so to him!

Yes, but its through discussing RTC and their trips that we began talking about other related topics. Isn't that how conversations usually develop ?

Indeed, though I wouldn't be surprised if his home is surrounded by a ring of Steel with barbed wire running along the top of it !

Scary ! Did we pass his details to the security services ? Sounds like he could pose a potential threat to the nation.

So are we saying it's "better the devil you know" in this case of forum rule breaking ?

Notwithstanding what has been said on this thread, I have just returned from a trip on the CME with 46233 with RTC and would say that the trip exceeded our expectations. Despite the circular tour being done in the opposite direction, the information before and on train was good and the catering was much better than expected. The only downside was an hour in Carnforth Loop, but I don't think RTC can be blamed for that.

That's good news, and thanks for sharing your experience. I'm all for making sure RTC get a fair hearing when things go well. Unfortunately I suspect it may be more through accident than design when it does happen.

I've been on two trips with RTC, and both have been superb. The first was Haywards Heath-Bath behind 60019 in December 2008. The second was Swanage-London and return behind 44932 in November 2010. I had originally booked on an RTC "Swanage Belle" from London in September, which was rostered for 30777 and 34067. It was apparent to me long before the RTC website was updated that 34067 wasn't going to be ready in time, and it therefore wasn't going to be steam both ways over the Swanage branch (my main reason for booking the tour), and it required about 3 phone calls before the lady at RTC fianlly agreed with me - diesel Swanage-Southampton on the return. However, when I explained that I had originally booked the trip to do the Swanage branch both ways behind steam, she readily let me transfer my booking to the November trip with no fuss, and what a great day that was. So RTC aren't perfect and in my opinion, their website could benefit with more regular updating, but my overall experience of the company has on balance very definitely been positive.

John, I'm surprised at the hour at Carnforth, yesterday with the Moorlander we left Carnforth at 16.11 which I believe was the same time as the CME, arrived at Carnforth about 4 minutes early, and left on time after 40 minutes...but I see you were scheduled there for 68 minutes, very strange.

I've been wondering this. Seems strange that they haven't added anything yet and some of there competitors have already released quite a bit for 2013!

    Yes, a bit strange.
It will probably include a few KC-Lincoln/York/Newcastle runs, and some to Bath and Bristol.

Is the Saturday timetable slightly different to Mondays? There was a 31 in the up loop which left after a TPE unit had passed. We left after the next TPE unit, and a steward later said they had finished watering early on but were held for the path. The kitchen gas cylinders also had to be replaced, so more a gas stop than water stop, which did slightly cause further pathing issues with the sticky toffee pudding.

We have to leave Carnforth earlier to have a loco change to diesels at Preston due to weekdays not allowing the required steam slots in/out of Liverpool + aren't routed via Manchester after that so paths south of Preston are totally different.

As there's a loco ban on the branch south of Llanrwst North, it's not looking likely that any of the Welsh Mountaineers will run farther south than that station. Can anyone confirm this or expand on this?
