RG, I know you have GCR on your list but there is a bus collection at GCR (N) so visiting the two would be my plan in your shoes.

I hear you about railways not being open mid-week. Like you I do mini tours and try to visit as many as I can in one hit within my normal £100 a day max touring budget (I stay in hotels and B&B). I have a mini tour of the West country and South Wales planned for April which will be 5 lines in six days plus a bunch of other stuff as well including St Fagan's and some cycling. Trying to arrange it around which railways are open and when is always a challenge, and this time I re-cross my tracks at least twice to squeeze it in and fit into opening days. It's all part of the fun.

all part of the fun , you're right. I'm rescheduling the Northern tour to June , in the hope of more opening days and doing a mini Wales and the south tour in April instead. Hving a (classic) camper helps a lot)

If you are now "doing" the south as well, the Isle of Wight has both a bus museum and a steam railway.
