Given the fact I just washed my car keys in the washing machine - I don't think my weight of common sense is enough to trust me with anything more complicated than a door knob...

Yes I am an active volunteer
I'm glad to learn of the commercial success - fully loaded trains are what is needed to keep main line steam alive. My wife and I will have to content ourselves with lunch at a National Trust property that day, and perhaps I'll be allowed to watch the steam train in the late afternoon.

Just to add it will be difficult for 34098 to reply anyway as hes been banned for a week... dont really understand why as theres been a lot worse things said on here and the ones that said it are still free to comment..imagine, still free to comment.. isnt that what a forum is for?..... Even if you dont agree with it...

Post #400, page 20, I think this is the last "real time" (almost), report of the Royal Duchy train, with passengers on board, and with a steam loco in operation on the front.

5 days, 11 pages and over 200 posts ago!

Makes Nat Pres so much fun on dull days. :) :) :)

Erm as Al says he isn't banned at all - also he was on the forum yesterday at 9.43pm which his profile shows something he wouldn't be able to do if he was banned so that is just not true.

It was a good trade I thought..she said she would wash the cars and clean them if I did the washing. So for a while I had a clean car I couldn't drive.....!!!

Erm! Why does he hide his profile? Obviously only mods can view it.

    "National Preservation - Error

News to me - I didn't even know anyone could hide their profile on here despite being a mod for 8 years lol, anyway this is way off topic so best we leave it there......

No buseng that's not correct, the individual member has control over whether or not others can view their profile, it's nothing to do with the mods.

Not wishing to prolong this, but obviously Pete Thornhill was able to view his profile as he states in #611.

Yes I was and indeed can but so what! - the member obviously decided that that they didn't want you viewing their profile - Something that is there choice and until today was unaware you could even control who views your profile page. It's certainly nothing us mods have any control over and certainly not worth pages of debate over.

Since you seem to want to prolong this, yes mods can view profiles hidden from normal view, so what, it's one way we have of spotting spammers etc.
Pete we seem to be busy making the same replies, shall we call it a draw....:)

Prolonging this is good news to some of us on Nat Pres at present Ralph. :)

And it will all be spoiled soon by some damn steam loco managing to drag itself out onto the main line and a least attemptong to run a trip. :(

Until it fails and starts off perpetual motion in another thread. :)

    ;)
