And both trains will be diesel assisted, an absolute necessity on the Pembroke Coast Express as there's no chance it would be able to take a train via Landore Jn and up Cockett without one.

Last Novembers run over the Midland was on a Sunday, and with only two trains an hour from St Pancras to Kettering on a Sunday morning it went main line from Bedford to Kettering .The Saturday 19 Sept' run will be almost certainly slow line ,Bedford to Wellingboro' via Sharnbrook tunnel and probably on to Kettering due to a lot more trains on the main. Its plenty far enough from London(Ealing Broadway ) to Kettering on one tank of water, when the troughs were out of action at Oakley near Bedford in the mid fifties ,all trains were booked to take water at Kettering, so expect a good shove from a diesel at the back.Usual motive power on one of the infrequent steam runs over the the Midland is an A4 with a larger tender.
