Alongside filming Black 5 44871 on the Polar Express shuttles out of Euston, Eddystone is seen at Twyford on her outward run, and Cholsey on the return, going at a great pace:

 

Popped out last night to see Eddystone return to London and was going very well indeed as it passed through Chippenham ready to attack Dauntsey Bank. Our 26 year old son was with me and said he's never seen anything like it, and now wants to do a main line steam run - so I'd better get booking.

Presumably the rebuilt Bulleid had a quick rebuild into an LM 5 en route!

Aah, reminders of evening crackly music on Radio Luxemburg.
The 'beloved' Horace died in the mid- to late-1970s I think - but he must have been in his late 70s by then I would have thought.
He never seemed to take advantage of his own tips however as otherwise I'm sure we would have heard of his reaching millionaire status.
