Yes. My comment about the Arthur was contrasting the diesel assistance on the SD Swanage trip because of the load with the bizarrely lighter train for the RTC Scot trip and the need for the Class 47 to assist less.

Wasn't Pete Roberts the driver who drove Tangmere unassisted from Weymouth ? Top man in my estimation !

    The crew on 09/07 were:

Outward - Pete Roberts, driver, and Dean Morris, fireman (plus Mick Valla on the diesel)
Return - John Daniel, driver, Mel Cox, conductor, and Pete Hanson, fireman (plus Jim Tipping, on the diesel)

Thanks James, I certainly thought Pete would have been involved somewhere. If not on the Scot then on Sir Lamiel. I guess with the 2 loco's out and about and other West Coast movements (2 Black 5's for starters) that's why re-inforcements from up north were called upon.

A video of 46115 passing 30777 in the Goods Loop near Southampton has now appeared on Youtube. It's a bit long and jumps about a bit with the continuity but worth watching for the "historic" event http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rgiL7wTlGk
