Well I went out to see this at Garswood this morning, beautiful clear, cool and still morning. We could hear 5305 for a good 4-5 minutes climbing up from St Helens, then bumped by a service train...nothing to see here.. :frusty:

I suppose there is always the return this evening.

    Neil.

A nice touch tonight at Eccleston Park station on the return Cumbian Mountain Express. A gathering of photographers, onlookers and families were spotted by the driver of the Northern Rail Wigan train as 45305 approached. The driver stopped short of the platform until 45305 and its train had passed through. It then proceeded forward. A very nice gesture indeed.

I've seen that as well on previous runs, thought that it was a coincidence, obviously not.

Now 45305 tomorrow, 27 August, not 70013 which is undergoing maintenance.

Could it be concern about a 5 taking 12 coaches up Miles Platting from a standing start? and even Whilpshire with the probability of wet rail.
