Cracking shot John, 5 minutes from my front door, must try that on a Fellsman.

What I still don't understand is why the normal CMEs don't take a DL either for heating or for shunting. Or am I just losing it in my old age?

An enjoyable day lineside, though it didn't get off to the best of starts, with the late departure out of Manchester and my car almost packing up. The light was tricky at Horton, but on reflection, Made for a nice silhouette with the fives in fine voice. The day finished off nicely at Lancaster, with a barnstorming passage. Big thanks to Mr Riley, what would we do without his pair of Fives ? Hope you enjoy. :)

Superb Liam, some wonderful sequences there - especially at Horton, when will you ever see light like that again? Many thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

    Alan

The thunder of the 5's really made up for the absence of 60103. Heck, I think that 46233 shall have a hard time in trying to beat 44871+45407's performance yesterday.

I was hoping someone would be at Lancaster to get a decent shot and thankfully you succeeded, only the mid 50s but certainly a spectacular sight.:) It's always a great feeling rushing through the middle line of any station in the dark.....

I agree Ralph. You can't go wrong at Lancaster, as long as all goes to plan. Mind you, a Pendolino pulled in on the main northbound platform just a minute later.

Cheers Alan. The Lighting was was rather nice, though could of been a lot harsher if another 10 minutes had rolled on.

When I had the pleasure of a ride in the support coach of 46233 on the Citadel tour a few years back they all said ( crew and support ) they loved Lancaster at full tilt going South Ralph !

Some great vids and photos posted from what was a nice change to the norm after we were all treated to the rather unusual early northbound path.

Please see my black and white contribution as something different from Helwith Bridge, after getting there slightly late due to oversleeping!!! Had I not been rang by those who I was supposed to be picking up after waiting an hour for us to arrive, I wouldn't have seen it!! Must try harder lol

Great to see many familiar faces at this location

Nothing quite like seeing a 'Semi' charging through Lancaster on the 'up fast' to tackle Ripley bank!
