...and over the flyover a few minutes late, 47 clagging more than the Duchess in the rear!

Just seen it into Spalding, with a 40 mph wind up its bum and the 47 working its socks off I think I saw the fireman with his deck chair up on the top of the tender

I feel your pain. The box wasn't doing anything when the train passed me but neither was the Duchess as she shut off just before I hit the shutter release as shown here as she passes Holme Green just south of Biggleswade.

 Unbelievable. Someone tell that lad it ain't worth taking such a risk for a photo/video. Surely he could see fine from that side anyway?! Feel for the driver or 46233, must have been an uncomfortable moment.

Take it these are public foot crossings? Surprised they still exist on the ECML in this day and age.

Think we are being a bit dramatic, there was over 30 seconds between the guy crossing and any train arriving, which is longer than some automatic barrier level crossings! - And yes if you know where to look there are still a few foot, user worked, and private farmers crossings in that area.

You can say that about any crowded suburban platform in rush hour.

Going reasonably well passing Peakirk about 15 mins down at this point. Fireman seems to be doing a lot of window leaning in the videos I have seen.

He could have got up, rolled a fag, and strolled across. Don't get your knickers in such a twist.
