    The diesel will be behind the tender, but whether the Duchess is doing anything will depend where you are. Outside the NR York zone it should at least be making a contribution, if not doing all the work.

    With the apocalytic rain event forecast from Thursday night onwards for the next 4 days, I wonder if the paraffin can may disappear from this week's Flyer? Having said that, I'm not sure how many brave souls will venture forth given the conditions. I would think 60009 is reasonably certain motive power as 46233 goes to Perth for the weekend, unless they trust a Black 5 if there's one about. 60009's support crewe have their work cut out, 2 days on the main line, good luck guys.

    Sorry about the lack of further information, vodafone's 3G signal was down to their usual standard.

    We left Denton about 15 minutes behind schedule, never did find out what the delay was but we soon picked up the missing time, and didn't miss a cue for the rest of the day.

    47580 definitely did at least some of the work starting from rest, understandable given the adhesion conundrum presented by the combination of Gresley's finest and the shocking weather, but once up and running it was definitely dialled right back.

    Does anyone know for certain if they will be dragging a paraffin can along for the ride tomorrow, or hopefully sense will prevail in view of the amount of rain that has fallen?
