Thanks Ralph but I am not about to start joining the "NP against Stuart" brigade nor am I about to join in with NP in general. In fact I'd rather not be associated with either! (hence why I hardly post anymore, because all this place is is a load of argueing and bickering with a few good photos/vids mixed in).

Dear People - a video from the outward run this morning at Holmes Chapel, Diggle and Sherburn-in-Elmet at:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmzffMm2N7I

There are some sound issues with this video (one of which Ralph has already kindly explained to me) but Lizzie still looks good.

The Flyer returns, slowed by signals in the bright evening sun at Mirfield 7.45pm, paintwork glistening.

Love the evening shot Mark, there was a chap at Kirkthorpe the other day asking if I knew who you was... I think he knew you... I can't figure out why he knew I knew you :S

Why has everyone apart from us got the flaming sun tonight??

Well that's the end of homebound photography this year - at least the Adswood check led us to go to Cheadle Hulme where we found a storming Indian/Thai takeaway right next to the station after Lizzie had gone through - excellent all round - just a shame the sun had set just as she passed Slaithwaite - should have been at Golcar - with a letraset like Paul! !

Letraset - now someone is showing their age and so am I for remembering said item.

Thanks TBF for the continuing restaurant reviews.

I wouldn't give up completely on Golcar next week. It looked like the sun might've stayed up above the hill for another 15-20 minutes, which would mean it might still be lit next week. I wouldn't guarantee it though, as it'll be a close thing. Of course, it'll likely be raining anyway and 70013 doesn't stand out as well in the distant shots, but it's still a nice place to observe! Even last night, it was a real shame the sun dipped into the high cloud before Lizzie came, as it meant using rather more Photoshop than I'd like to tease out the colours.

Kirkham Abbey on Friday. Shame about the lack of exhaust, but it was far too warm for anything other than a slight haze.

At least you got a plume of steam from the safety valves! Nice shot.

Here's my effort from Friday. 6201 at Weaverthorpe crossing on the outward leg.

    View attachment 3054

A chap I got in conversation with told me that Weaverthorpe was the last manually operated crossing on the York to Scarborough line. Is that correct? I've not rode the line for some years.
