A set of WCRC stock was seen last Friday heading west behind a 47 whilst the Flyer was watering at Milford in the morning.

Ah right, didn't see it the week before although, I assume in the same slot, we did see Leander also heading the same way.

Oh right, yeah well 5690 must have passed just as 6201 had arrived? 6201 left with the local passing by the bridge to the north side of the sidings and just after 6201 had passed me 47760 passed going the other way so would have just passed inbetween South Milford and Sherburn.

Just caught the Black Five at Wakefield Westgate this morning between downpours. What a magnificent noise she made as an excellent start in poor conditions was made. You could still hear her when she was at East Ardsley. Tremendous!

My grandson, Leander, and I had a good run out behind the Black 5 yesterday. The 'new loop' has'nt the style of the original but is picking up numbers which is important if we want steam on the main line. The weather being monsoon like didn't help with th experience. But leaving York the sun broke through and some great window hanging was had as the engine threashed its way to Scabro. This confirmed Leander's love of steam engines to the next level beyond Thomas.

Finally left Westgate today at about 12, after slipping to a stand on the bank and not been able to restart, the driver said they had to reverse back into Kirkgate and have a run up at the bank. Hopefully this sunny weather will last till tonight.

I believe so Ralph, i'm sure somebody will be able to confirm it? Great skills of the crew today, we could hear it for ages slipping, attempting to start etc... It's just a pitty that the embankment is at the side of an industrial estate that has somebody manning the entrance today with 'Private' signs all around so didn't want to risk having a look. We also had a look at the park, which has a high hill in the middle but the trees are just far too high to even see the viaduct.

Anybody know of any spots where we can capture the viaduct, we found a spot looking up at the viaduct but there must be something better?

    Simon

    I hope there is!
I'm going back tonight with video camera in hand.
If she doesn't slip on the bank she sight and sound up the hill from Westgate is tremendous!!

Thanks Mark, it's really annoying as you could get some really nice shots. I suppose helicopter would be the only way, but I don't think I'd get one booked now, didn't manage it for the other week so doubt I will for now with the last week been next :/

Apparently there is a brake problem at Normanton.
A diesel is being sent to assist.

Had also heard that info at Outwood, but 44932 did come eventually about 45 - 50 Minutes down without any diesel.
