    Another great pic Stuart.

I was on the trip, a great day out, a fine Loco that breezed up the bank from Wakey to Ardsley with effort to spare.

Grateful thanks to all the 5305 people that made the visit of 70013 possible.

Outward diverted via Micklefield and Leeds this morning due to signalling problems.

Still a good and interesting picture, and gives a bit of the context for modern mainline steam. Deserves its place in your collection.

Chris Cubbitt on 70013, Ron Smith on 44932 on Tuesday. John Hunt was firing on the Brit, having only returned from Fort William the day before!

Inspired by Marks effort from the other week, I headed out to Little Fenton after work to see Cromwell on the final SSE of the year:

    Well done Paul,lovely shot.

In some ways I wish I had gone for it myself last night, but as it was the last one I decided to have a little trip on board.

    Cheers,
    Mark

Thanks Mark, and thanks for the inspiration. The light was pretty much guaranteed yesterday evening, but I wasn't sure whether there'd be any exhaust, and if there was, if it'd behave in the easterly breeze. Thankfully, it worked out nicely. I'm sure you had a great trip; it's a shame you can't be in two places at once, particularly when there've been so few decent evenings this summer.

Yes,the weather really has been poor this season! Think my dad said he has been on board to Scarborough (on different railtours) 5 times since June and hasn't had any sun,at all!

Regardless the Brit sounded nice climbing up to Ardsley, leaving a smoke trail as it went!

What a quiet week it is in West Yorkshire now the Spa Express has finished. Hundreds of travellers and photographers have been out all those weeks, how lucky we are to see those sights and Loco's.

I travel on that train at least once every year and get out as much as I can to film, for that I thank WCR and all the people who made those trips happen this Summer.
