More prosaically, suppose for the sake of argument Galatea was failed on return to York last night. That gives maybe 12 hours overnight to do a deal between WCR and NRM, get FS in position, ready and FTR tested. With the best will in the world that's tight.

Any more news re if/when Leander might be setting off?
Edit--just re-read above posts which say Galatea was failed this morning.

Agreed, was not really suggested as an option just a curiosity as to whether it had been considered as a contingency measure in the planning stages but discounted.

The Jacobite engines have an enviable reliability record in very challenging circumstances too so it can be done. Maybe worth reviewing what those loco owners do to achieve such availability and adopting any good practices?

Not circuitous enough I'm afraid:Shifty: I suppose it was 'a cunning plan' to avoid Kirkgate and stroll round Westgate without a care in the world. Well it didn't work, you were detected.
It isn't UK Border Force oop'ere, IT'S YORKSHIRE, nothing much gets in without we know about it.:D............;)

I'm not sure what 'good practices' can be put in place to ensure that stays do not leak.

Yeah you are probably right. Those with the most reliable engines must just be lucky ..........

Could hear a lot of slipping from my flat- presumably leaf-fall is now in full swing at Bootham. Might see if I can do a pay on the day for the Wakefield loop later on.
