Thanks Idris. My hearing isn't the best but you're right, glad I wasn't travelling in it.

Agreed about the wheel flat. As for the steam leak, it's not very clear in some of the videos, but around 2:30 in bodorganboys' videothe steam seems to be coming from the front of the cylinder rather than from the pipe that leads from the drain cock. What do you call the valve that relieves excessive pressure?

That was my first thought, but it looks as if it's coming from the front of the cylinder, not the back where there's a gland.

Have you any information on what's allocated to the SSE on 3rd August? Thanks.

Tree fell on overheads and went on fire between Skipton and Bingley 1750 yesterday. Freight put in Hellifield loop and still there now waiting driver.

Looks like a variety of problems. A train must have failed between Cononley and Keighley as 1Z99 was dispatched this morning to rescue. Now reporting as 5Z99 at Keighley. Freight stuck at Hellifield loop preventing water being taken. Electrics having issues between Skipton and Keighley. I’ll be very surprised if it runs.

Underway 85 late. Bets on how late in to Scarborough?! I’d be well annoyed if it wasn’t retimed to give more time in Scarborough. Especially having stood on Carnforth station for 90 mins!

The freight has left Hellifield Goods Loops so water can be taken. Services are running between Skipton and Leeds with some delays as can be expected. I understand anyone being frustrated at a lengthy wait to board but credit should be given to all involved in repairing the damage and getting trains moving again including the freight. The SSE should still be a good day out!

From my experience of late running tours I would be surprised as if the TOC asks the NR answer is usually "booked time" for understandable reasons.

Going well through Cononley. Heard from a long way away, wish I was on board!
