    I'll keep a look out...

The 09:20 departure is usually from P9, but when I filmed it with 5690 it went from P5, but I don't think that happens too often. Then the 12:05 departure is off P5.

    A couple from this morning...

Thanks for the info Simon, we arrive at York from Kings X about 11:50 on Mon. morning so hopefully I'll have time to leg-it up the platforms and photograph Cromwell leaving. On Tues it's the NYMR, Weds. travelling on the Scar. Express then on Fri. photing 60009 departing York on the Scar. Flyer and finally on the Sat. photing either Leander or Scots Guardsman at York on a excursion before coming home. So not a bad week for me coming up, just hope the wife enjoys it!

Well the start to the final week both the SSE season and the filming for Steaming Around Yorkshire.

I did a bridge called Shippen Farm House bridge this morning and Garforth Station this evening although it was pretty much gale force winds today it felt... So this mornings shot didn't work as well as expected as the bridge was bigger than me :smt013 So the Tri-pod was pushed to it's limits :|
The nights are certainly drawing in and was pretty hard to do anything decent at Garforth tonight, I dread to think what it was like any further around...

Anyway I've uploaded the two clips.

Started raining as we left Leeds and got heavier the nearer we got to Harrogate. Going great guns up the climb to Bramhope until poor railhead conditions caused a number of slips approaching Headingley. Driver eased up a bit but further slipping nearer Horsforth caused him to ease a bit more so no real fireworks beyond Headingley. Highlight for me was the restart from Micklefield Jct. An absolutely thunderous exhaust that was a delight to hear.
Thanks for sharing the clips. Always nice to see footage of trips I'm on.

Well really was a morning from Hell this morning :|
I opted for a shot at Halton this morning, turned up... "Oh where's my mic?" I'd only forgotten to put them in the bag... Anyway plodded along, got all set up and was quite breezy this morning, Cromwell came roaring around the corner starting to zoom back out and bang, something tapped my leg and did the zoom all wrong, didn't help about been rather nervous whether it was going to become breezy when 70013 turned up... Anyway was potentially a smashing shot, the sun was out, 70013 was roaring well and a little tap on the whistle for us... Just wasn't to be.
Anyway I’ve uploaded the clip from both mine and John's camera's and pieced them together to get rid of my awful zoom work. It's far from the usual standard I produce but couldn't resist from the noise from 70013, It won't however be appearing on the DVD because of it's rubbish standard.

Anyway no clip tonight as it's farewell drinks for the SAY team this evening then into Leeds for some raving ;) so we shall see what tomorrow brings.

Well didn't venture too far this morning after a rather sore head, so Colton Junction was on the cards... Worked out quite well actually :) Then this evening featured Horsforth Station in some rather wet & dark conditions... "Must be mad!" Sprung to mind this evening...

Both clips great as usual, the one in the dark particularly so, it just shows what you can do with video, when the still photters have long past packed up and gone home. It also means they are not getting in your way when the only option is the station platform shot.

Great clips Simon, the wife and I really enjoyed our trip on the SSE last Weds. and rounded off by the crew letting me cab Cromwell whilst it was sat at Scarborough. Had a great week up in York and the NYMR. Got 3 new cops - King George V and Olton Hall at the NRM, then Princess Elizabeth on Friday at York Station. So all in all a very good week despite the changeable weather.
