Times and fares up on the WCR site, not a fan of the Wakey loop but the prices are very reasonable....

Travelled with a couple of friends year before last. They both found the Wakefield loop a bit tedious and thought the break in Scarborough was not long enough. I'll probably go again and just do the loop as the climb out of Wakefield is well worth experiencing. I must admit I found it all a bit slow compared to previous years. Maybe because the 8F was in the pool and so a 50 mph schedule.

Very slack timings in various sections.
Do the crew go for a faster speed and then sit around and wait at a signal or potter along and keep moving?
As you say the best bit is the run from Wakefield to the M62 when the loco is working hardest up the bank.

Going by my 2012 experience it's just pottering along keeping time. On the whole less inspiring than my runs with 45231 and 70013 in previous years.
