Can I ask the MHR lads what 925 is like performance wise ?, Repton always struck me as very light footed when it visited the SVR & GWR, Cheltenham looked ok at the GCR, but that doesn't have anything too tricky to catch it out.

May seem a daft question at first, but no two loco's, even of the same class, are alike characteristic wise.

    Hi Everyone,

I see today 925 was on a photo charter. Could someone from the charter put a link to their photo site.

    Cheers

Nice pics - did the Schools class work goods trains in SR/BR service? Don't think I have ever seen a photo of one.

Nice shots Steve. I hope you don't mind but I've listed you as a contact to our flickr site so that I don't miss your great photos.

    Hi chaps,

Great photos from the charter. Being at the MHR yesterday myself you had the weather on your side.

No problem. I'm still working through the day's shots, terrific lighting and some great choice of locations. The crew were great as ever, even when bits fell off the loco! I am not sure about Schools on a freight, but can't say it never happened sometime in their careers. Certainly interesting photographing such a short engine, you need to get the angle of attack spot on.

Because I had a little bit of time on my hands today, I decided to pay a visit to the Mid Hants Railway so I could capture 925 Cheltenham in action for an upcoming project that I am currently working on. I have uploaded a couple of pieces of footage from today, of 925 ascending Medstead Bank with the 11:56 service from Ropley (tender first), and then on the 12:50 service from Alton to Medstead. The noise was quite incredible, and I hope that you enjoy listening to this 25-odd minute soundtrack.

Some nice shots there. My brother was relief fireman on Sunday for 925, I'll show him what he missed on the Saturday!

I didn't venture up to Chawton on Sunday, but did take a few shots near Alresford; not much exhaust as it is downhill there when 925 is facing the right way!
