Regarding preserved or surviving-but-at-risk Sentinels - these are what I am aware of.
    • 5x 3ft 6in Narrow Gauge Sentinels rebuilt as carriages - 3 in Tasmania and 2 in Victoria.
    • 1x Broad Gauge Sentinel - rebuilt as a diesel rail car in Sri Lanka (was running around 10 years ago)
    • 3x 2ft 6in Narrow Gauge Sentinels (331, 332 and 333) in Sri Lanka. #331 was restored by the SLR in 1990 and reports are that it last steamed in 2008, but was stripped for an overhaul that has subsequently stalled. #332 and #333 still exist but are derelict having not steamed since the 1970s.
    • 1x (unknown gauge) Sentinel in Spain, heavily rebuilt - derelict.
    • 1 (or 2?) x Metre Gauge Sentinel in Peru - one has been operating recently with Volvo diesel engine.
    • 1 x Standard Gauge Jersey Eastern Railway passenger section (under restoration in Romania).
    • 1x Standard Gauge Egyptian 3-car Sentinel unit at Quainton Road.
    Kind regards,
    Gareth
