Just back from a very enjoyable day out. Plenty of people on the trains.
I was very impressed with The Duke, the first time I've seen her.
    Video to follow.

    RESULT!
Two days of hard work polishing that thing has come to fruition then, although I thought it would be hard to beat 71000, with their seemingly never-ending supply of support crew and auto-glym!
I would love to see some pics of it today if anyone has any
Thanks, you've made my (and a few other people's) day :D

I am happy to confirm that 71000 is as stunning mechanically as it is visually. Truly deserving of that over - used accolade, "awesome." That staccato Caprotti beat is a joy to listen to, only problem is, all the rest of our engines are going to sound tame now! On second thoughts, nah!

I should add that all the engines looked superbly turned out.

Maybe the varnish used when "Erlestoke" was painted had an extra dose of "superbright" added!

Well done to all the loco teams. A credit.

Great day at the Valley Friday, can't praise the organisers and evryone involved too highly, as said previously superbly turned out locos and faultless timekeeping throughout the day. I stayed around Arley, here are a few stills from my video which will be posted later today.

Had a great day on the trains yesterday - although photting, for me anyway, was a total non-event! (The sun kept hiding when I tried to take photos! lol).

A great line-up of locos (I've wanted to see 71000 on the Valley for a very long time!) - and all credit to the SVR for getting the visiting locos on matching stock. Timetable worked well too.

Just one small issue for the SVR at Kidderminster, it would have been useful for "car park full" signs to put out at Kidderminster, because through late morning and early afternoon people were driving into the car park and getting in a bit of a lather at the congestion. The last spaces went at around 10-30am.
No doubt it will be much worse today, Saturday!

well it seems that this gala'sturning out to be a good 'un, trains seemed full this morning, and the timetable, although more sparse than usual, seems to work well! Unfortunately i haven't been able to attend any of the evenings due to work (getting paid for work, now there's a novelty) but am able to keep up to date via this forum.
Many good pictures are now appearing on the internet too, especially of 7812, our shed pet at Bewdley this weekend, my thanks go to my collegues on the depot who have helped to give her that ex-works look, i'll buy you all a pint next time im not working on a friday evening :D
Also looked like Hasell_A and JTX enjoyed their play with the big engines too!

Impressive effort from the SVR, , then again i suppose running 5 full line train's in a day is quite normal if using unusual motive power, i spent a few hours at Hay Bridge and Eardington in the afternoon before popping into Bridgnorth for the early evening, would i be right in assuming 43106 is hiding in the boiler shop ?.

Just to show your and your colleagues effort a shot of 7812 at Kidderminster. The light on Friday was good but not for photo's, sun shining into the camera. When I have done some enhancing on my shots I will sort through them and add them to my fotopic site. Good to see timetable was adhered to to the minute on Friday. Due to time contraints a ride was out of the question but that will be put to rights on Sunday.Sorry pic is cropped.

I enjoyed the visit to the SVR, weather was quite mild, and with no rain! The cakes at The Engine House are much better than those at Bewdley, perhaps the concept of quality assurance hasn't been passed on down the line. Thanks to all those who organised the weekend, prepared and crewed the engines and kept things running smoothy.
