Many thanks for the cleaning it was much appreciated - but next time have a better look at the spelling of the loco's name. It is named after a Manor House in the Wiltshire village of ERLESTOKE (was used as a remand home when last checked!!).

Awesome Gala guys.... simply awesome. Had a great time out and about on the Friday up the North end with the camera's. Spent Saturday travelling on the trains... highlight was the morning run with the castle, 12.30pm ex Highly was special - chimney music at its best :) Then Sunday more time getting about watching and filming. As others have said.... the Manor (my fav class) looked stunning. Here's a few pics from my collection

I really the hope the gala pays dividends for the railway, so much effort must have gone into putting on a show like this.... I'm so pleased to say I was there to see so a HUGE THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED =D>

Big, shiny GWR engines look extra special in the rain, I guess they were designed to look good on a soggy day in Penzance!

I knew I'd seen that Castle running with through freight lamps! Thanks, Jeff.

jtx certainly did. Congratulations for the job on 7812. That was the finest turned - out engine I've seen on here for many years.

A personal thank you to all for their kind comments. It's nice to know we succeeded in giving people what they wanted. A huge amount of work, by a lot of people, goes on behind the scenes and on the day to make it all work. I am hoping to make the big Triple - S at Llanny next month. Two of their leaflets made it on to 71000's footplate!

    Regards,

    John

Best of a bad lot of shots to be honest, to be expected really when you spend the day train hopping rater than linesiding! Anyway here's Ollie backing off shed first thing on Saturday and Erlestoke exchanging the token at Bewdley..
