Whilst great that you can obtain the fully detailed wtt, it is normally a large A4 page booklet; and I wonder why they have never produced the smaller type programme similar to those at GCR & WSR galas?

I intend to brave the queues at Kidder on the Saturday, having arrived by train from Swansea (a good three hour trip) with a mate of mine. Looking forward to some trips behind Sir Nige and Old Carbuncle (Gresley and Cromwell for the uninitiated)...

I've just got my WTT and rover tickets. I can't see any indication of which way locos are facing. Trying to ride tender/ bunker first workings and arrange to phot the chimney first workings!

Can anyone confirm that the evening rovers will be available? Can't find any mention on the website...

    5029 & 60007 will be facing South
    71000 & 70013 Will be facing North
5164 and 7812 are facing South at the moment, i presume they will be staying that way.

I can't find it on the website either, but taken from a fairly good source (which I accept isn't the confirmation that you are probably after!) is this:

"Looks like we will now be experimenting with an evening-only Rover for this gala. Available after 5pm on Friday, and after 6pm Saturday. Price £14 for adults, £12 members & seniors, £7 children. Will not be sold in advance of those times. "

Details now on the web site. It's on the News page, "Festival of Steam - Evening Rover Tickets". Somewhat long URL so I've not posted it, but I'm sure you'll find it OK. There is also a news article about the dining train service on Saturday evening, if that's of interest to anyone.

Good to know lots of you are coming. It should be a brilliant 3 days. I'll be driving 71000 first trip on Friday, so I'll try and keep my head in. Don't want to crack any expensive camera lenses!
