I'm intending to visit on Sunday, weather permiting, heading north of Bewdley this time. I've spent a lot of time on the Safari Curve section in recent years (not just when the northern section was closed).

I don't have a lineside pass, and normally prefer to be a few hundred yards from the line to show the train in the landscape. I've had a quick look at the Nat.Pres photo guide to the SVR, but it's not one of the most helpful (lots of nick-names for locations and no map references) so any suggestions for good landscape locations gratefully received.

Just one plea to my fellow photographers: when you are not on the lineside, please take off your high-vis jackets.

    Thanks in advance.

Friday night for me, hopfully catch the last services going on shed at Bridgenorth, then a full day saturday, freight off Bridgenorth 08.30, catch the 09.50 off Bridgenorth, arrive Kidderminster 11.11, 11.35 to Bewdley, 12.41 to Arley, 13.31 to 13.54 to Highley 14.57 to Hampton Load, 15.59 to Bridgenorth ready for an evening run back to Kiddrminster, last train back to Bridgenorth arriving 23.12..

I`ve noticed this on the website; ADVANCE BOOKING IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. BOOK YOUR TICKETS ONLINE NOW AT OUR TICKET OFFICE., does this mean they only sell a limited amount of tickets on the day???

I wonder if anyone connected with the SVR can say if the "change of trains" issue at Bewdley has been addressed? I see from the timetable that there is a one minute difference between up and down trains at Bewdley. I was rather hoping to set up a number of short journeys on the Kidderminster-Bewdley section, but maybe--as usual--this is not really possible?

    Thanks

I wish the SVR planned it's timetable to connecting national rail services better..
you wouldnt think rail enthusiasts arrive by train would you ?

on Friday the 19.35 leaves 10 minutes before the Brum train arrives.
and arrives back at Kidderminster 5 minutes after the last service train has departed back to Brum !

so sadly no friday night visit for me... even though i'm staying in Brum.

At least the SVR can claim it mimics real life railway planninng in this instance.

I can now confirm that 5029 'Nunney Castle' is now on the SVR and now all visiting locos are almost set for Friday morning.
