On the outward journey in the morning train arrives at Duddeston Jt at 10.53 steam comes off and the train leaves again at 11.23 with diesel for Stratford arrives in Stratford about half an hour later than the original time.

I'm not well up on what the diferent lines are called but I'm presuming, based on timings, that from Kingsbury junction the route is via Lea Marston and not Whitacre Heath/Coleshill Parkway.

Doesn't bode well for 45596 and later 5593 when their respective Tyseley overhauls are done.

How can there be gauging issues around Tyseley when 4965 has been on pretty much every line in the local area !:mad: Glad I'm going up North instead !

It might be "we've checked and it doesn't fit", or "we've not checked so we don't for sure know that it will fit". Cynics might suggest other possibilities, but I couldn't possibly comment

Any updates on how Galatea is working today. RTT suggests on time so far.

0Z if a light engine code and so the diesel must be making its own way to Duddlestone J which is good for those on board the main train.

Oh no! Could be the diesel to pull the train back to Skegness!! So maybe the diesel is tagged on the back of the steam service after all - eek!

That is 47760 which will replace Galatea. I expect 47580 is still on the rear from Skegness.

A shot of Galatea at Lea Marston this morning. There was a small crowd of photographers and video-ers dotted around this location, hope to see some of the shots on here later.

Please go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/5611hongkong for a view of 45699 passing Nottingham Station at 08.57. 45699 was a 22A Bristol loco ,Bristol Jubilees were quite often loaned /borrowed by Midland line sheds, mostly Derby Millhouses(Sheffield )and Leeds. 16A Nottingham had quite a few Jubilees for working trains to St Pancras, whether 45699 put in a appearance there I don't know, but it was nice to see a 5X ,as they were known on the Midland ,at Nottingham .
