Yes I am an active volunteer
The regular overhaul of former Bundesbahn Prairie 23 023 is almost complete, and the locomotive will shortly resume main line operations.

In this video the valves are blown through during a steam test.

Quite a spectacular pink cloud ensues.

23 023 has been with the SSN at Rotterdam since 1976 and has been a reliable performer on the main line. The depot is in Rotterdam north, which also houses 01 1075, 41 105, former WD 'Austerity' 8811 and 50 1255 (as yet unrestored). There is a 23m turntable and a connection to the main line. There are several main line excursions per year with 01 1075 or 23 023, and usually one of these goes across the border into Germany with overnight stays.

The depot is open to visitors every Saturday.
