    In 1905 the Alexandra Docks Railway (Newport, S Wales), faced with a loco stud which seemed to consist of whatever had been on special offer at the used locomotive dealers when they had decided they needed another loco, introduced standardisation by buying a set of 29 identical whistles based on the Caledonian Railway's design...
