Its a discussion forum, not some sort of legal system.
We like to think that we have a degree of integrity and will consider any report about any post from anyone.

My guess is that this kind of thing happens and it can transform an area but not necessarily for the good of the locals especially if the new owner doesn't live there. Have no idea what the Welsh Nats think - probably the same as Cornish folk who see their villages becoming a sleeping community until the summer months.

But are we on serious thread drift here?

Yet you and the other mods will read the forum, occasionally see posts that are distinctly 'off' (vide recent posts on the 60009 thread) and seemingly, not do anything about it until someone clicks that 'report' button.

You have heard of the word 'proactive', haven't you?

We don't have time to read every post on every thread and also may have a different opinion of what is 'off', distinctly or otherwise.
You have heard of the phrase 'overreaction' haven't you? :)

Yes, you've described pretty well the way it works...:)
Yes we have and we are proactive if we spot something that may have immediate consequences for the Forum Owner or is so against Forum Rules as to be instantly unacceptable.

However, we are a bit like your local community police; they are around but not everywhere and definitely not all of the time, hence the first point.

In light of the earlier post about terrorist organisations and its passing without sanction I wouldn't waste your breath and just move on....

But whatever you do make sure you refer to Donald Trump by his full name or you will be in big trouble.....

On topic now - have just had an e-mail saying that 'The Talisman' rail tour has been postponed until the 15th September due to the fire risk.

It also rather tantalisingly suggests that Tornado has now been repaired and is awaiting test runs?

It's easy to cause offence by comments online which are made in jest, even if in poor taste. I've been guilty myself. Many of my family are Welsh, though I'm not myself. Please don't make the mistake of conflating the more fervid kind of Welsh Nationalists, who are very rare indeed, with Welsh people in general. My experience is that Welsh people tend to dislike supercilious people who flaunt their money, as do I.

Given the generally abrasive manner @RalphW deploys on the forum my guess is he probably relishes the individual confrontations his provocative remarks generate. I also suspect he would regard being reported by certain members as a badge of honour so best to move on as you suggest.

For the record every post that is reported gets treated exactly the same. The exception to the rule is when a report is made against a member of the moderation team, the moderator whom the report concerns will step aside and take no part in any decision the rest of the team makes in those situations.

I raised no questions about the integrity of the mod team, only one of it's members. You do a fine job and have been let down on this occasion by a member who also happens to be a moderator.

Back on subject; Brecon have just announced on Facebook that they will be using diesel traction.

As I mentioned on the Swanage thread, bucking the national trend the U Class replaced the usual Class 33 on the "Cream Tea" this afternoon.

Well done them but all very risky. As I said elsewhere I was at the Bluebell on Saturday and the train I was on stopped to put out a fire that had been set by a train going up the hill to Horsted Keynes.

I am guessing caused by a shortage of a 33 as 33111 is on one of the service trains and the T9 on the other. Running to Norden not too bad, no crop fields beside the line and they do keep the banks in check. Guess it would be different if services were crossing the Heathland towards Worgret Junction.
NYMR interesting from their daily loco roster, some trains diesel assist at rear, some steam at back of diesel hauled train then later in the day a steam may run on its own that was previously assisted. May be geared to train length as just seen the Standard Tank take only 5 out of Grosmont on its own on the webcam.

It’s a reason (if one were needed) for keeping linesides cut back. I was on 847 the Saturday before last and we stopped for two fires, fortunately neither very serious. Our tender locos carry portable water pumps on the tenders to allow serious drenching if required, though often a spray from the injector pep pipe or a few buckets from the injector overflow is sufficient.
