That is correct, and detraining at short platforms can be a pain challenging. Bishop Aukland, for example, takes the loco and I think 4 coaches, with 12 coaches and 200 passengers it can take quite a time, but passengers are told before arrival that they will have to move forward to say coach 'D', so with a steward in each vestibule there is no real problem, just the time as all from the back of the train are using just 2 doors......

A few tweaks on the SD website http://www.steamdreams.com/Executab...press&DB=SteamDreams&Division=A&ActionCode=TC showing the Horsham-Canterbury train, not showing the two trips that were to include the Bluebell Railway, and a couple of new August trains, including a diesel-hauled excursion to the WSR.

Tangmere still down for 1st march, although UK steam info suggests 44932 is being lined up as a standby just in case repairs aren't completed.

Given the rumour (CME thread) that 46115 may need further tweaking before it commences work this year and also that Galatea possibly also needs something similar after an injector hiccup, I do wonder how Steam Dreams may be feeling about motive power on their trips scheduled for haulage by the WCR Northern Pool? It was certainly wise to be non-specific but my guess is that this wasn't their idea.

I agree, I think the options are 60009, 60019, and 70013 (subject support crew availability).

And subject to winter maintenance. Ollie is still in the shed at Loughborough. Not sure what the plans are for the A4s after The Long Goodbye at Shildon...

Two minor points that now seem apparent from the new SD brochure.

    1. Clan Line has been dropped from the loco pool list. So that possibly means that the ACE in September will be Braunton unless SD is able to get a special dispensation for Clan Line to be used, as the only authentic choice.
    2. The destination of the ACE is now shown as either Newquay or Penzance. It appears that there is now some uncertainty about this - no doubt to do with the movement of locos back to Par that I'm guessing would be easier from Newquay than Penzance. So maybe the ACE may actually go to the Atlantic coast after all.

Another point about the Steam Dreams brochure - they're not adverse to using photographs without permission or crediting the photographer. Two of the photos in the brochure are mine.

Re the new brochure I like the use of the diesel loco symbol to indicate sections that are diesel hauled. This is a welcome move towards greater transparency, even if it does remind us that steam mileage has had to be reduced on some itineraries, a sensible decision in my opinion by the way.

The brochure is beautifully presented and produced, but after reading some of the comments about the rolling stock in use on the WCME, I hope someone at SD has had a serious word with someone at WCRC, especially regarding the shameful lack of PA. If not, some of those travelling for the first time may wonder why the presentation of the train fell somewhat short of that of the brochure.

There is an invitation to comment from Marcus Robertson at the end of the enclosed letter I notice with an email address. Suggest you raise this with him.

Steam Dreams sent out an email before Christmas requesting photos for their 2014 brochure.Anyone who submitted would be entered into a draw for 2nr premium standards tickets at the end of January.

I saw that, but I didn't send them any photos, hence why I'm unhappy to see them being used.

I'd suggest Penzance is more likely, Newquay needs a diesel tail due to lack of run round, and even doubleheaded the 1 in 37 and curves of Luxylan (or however it's spelt) probably need a shove from behind.

We are going down with 2 locos so it's no big deal to drop one on the back at Par and that sorts the return journey.

It sorts running round, still be interesting to see Luxylan mind, much tougher than the Lickey as it's slow and twists.

I emailed them 1 photo, and received a form to sign giving them permission to use.
