44871 and load 8 waiting to leave Victoria. Diesel not coupled to the rear and steam heat working (too!) well :)

Looking at RTT, it seems the usual Oxford North pathing stop was dispensed with this time. Currently running 17 early into Hanborough, where I assume the Blenheim Palace passengers are being dropped off.

Another gutsy performance. I sometimes think that Riley's fives are the unsung heroes of mainline steam at present, regularly punching above their weight and stepping in to cover for others.

I thought it was you lurking by the foot crossing as I passed en route to Reading.

So you didn't get bowled this morning!
I like the B&W version - looks very 'Pathe News'!

She wasn't late in Earley (on time despite being over 15mins late at one point)

44871 races across the River Avon en-route to Worcester at Fladbury. We could hear the Black 5 leaving Evesham and then all the way to this location as it got up to speed.

Or rather - just par for the course for the superbly-maintained ultra-reliable Riley fleet!:)

Oh good grief - I know we live in a Health and Safety age but I really am tempted to hope the driver of 1E63 has a few facts of life explained to him (or the piss unmercifully taken) by his mates. And also that his TOC gets the bill for the delay minutes.

The next thing will be a driver reporting that a train's just passed him with its' wheels going round....... where will it end?

    Cheers,

    Mike
