It was bang on time through South Croydon - a lovely sound from the chime whistle as the train entered the station =D>

Made a mess of the photo though as I couldn't get a good focus while panning. Dad's video isn't too bad though.

    Regards,

    Dan

Thickmike & Dan: you guys posted that the chime whistle is in use tonight, yet Wayne (today's driver) posted earlier that the chime wasn't working today. I was looking forward to hearing it. The team didn't have much time to fix it between trips.

Just home from the evening trip. Great atmosphere on the train, everyone enjoying themselves. There was a short spell of fast running, up to 75mph I believe, then a dawdle through the suburbs being held up before Tulse Hill. This meant we were ten minutes late into Victoria. As mentioned already crowds of people around the engine, really something special - well done to all involved. Video up tomorrow.

    Re: Chime whistle

Hi Spamcan - cannot comment on what was required to fix the chime but it definately was working by the time she reached South London in the evening - maybe fixed between the day time and the evening trip? - someone on this forum must know! I assumed that Driver Wayne was on the daytime trip from the time of his posting. Congratulations to all involved and also to the photographers who have taken some stunning shots of her.

Me too, it would have been a cracking shot as well.

Saw Tornado at Micheldever an hour later

Another one, a very small crop from a larger picture, not up to the usual quality, but were you on the platform at Micheldever ?

    Cracking shot. Real colour?

I assume the rusty farm equipment was planned? - a good talking point for the pic and the project.

Regarding the 'routine' driving of her now, is it literally a case of trained crews just turning up and driving her? I suppose there are trust members on the support coach, but do any of them ride the footplate on these tours?

Cracking shot Jon, what camera do you use?
