Tangmere was on time at Colchester which is where we saw it. Lots of people went to see it. My son & I were there well on time to see it.
There were lots of passengers that took the opportunity to stretch their legs while Tangemere was being watered.
My son was rather upset because he wanted to have a ride on the train & couldn't understand why it wasn't possible (he's only 4). Once Tangemere had left I decided to take my son on a short train ride to Manningtree & back. He was very pleased with this. We've done loads of waving at trains today.
Thanks to every one who helped me get the info I needed.
We can't wait until the next steam train. :D

Tangmere went up Brentwood bank like a rocket and sounded absolutely fantastic.

Off to Ingatestone later tonight to see her on her way back in London.

Good to see steam on the GE.

    Well done steam.

Confusion reigned tonight at Ingatestone station as initially being told by platform staff the train was running 50 minutes late, then been told it had been failed at Ely we hang about to hopefully see the diesel hauled train only to see Tangmere was hauling the train albeit 75minutes late.

Does anyone have any idea what caused the delay?

I have read reports of signalling problems in the March area delaying the ecs move.

That's what you get when one of Mr. Bulleid's finest is given its head. Shades of 1951 when Spamcans worked on the GE.

    Cable Theft

Tangmere made the BBC 'Look East' news tonight at the end of an item about signal cable theft at Colchester the previous night.

You could also take your son to see Bittern at Cambridge or Norwich on 19/12.

Once again thanks to Steam Dreams for another good trip. The final 140 min late arrival in Victoria caused numerous problems for many on board but this, as usual was no fault of Steam Dreams. We weren’t told much on the problems at March although it seems it was signalman error which lost 34067 its path.
