I like how 80072 is classed as a 'passenger tank'!! Maybe Riddles should have classed it as 4passenger instead of 4 mixed traffic!!!

All the Standards - except the DoG(8P) and 9F - were designated Mixed Traffic locomotives.

Not according to the SSS3 website! Though at least that does show where Llangollen is, unlike the SSS3 leaflet which for some reason ends at the A483...

Even the 9F came to be designated '9', ie mixed traffic engines: also, although DoG carried 8P on the cabside for traffic purposes it was rated 8P 6F (IIRC which might be wrong, could even have been 8P 7F). To all intents and purposes all BR Standards were mixed traffic engines

    Regards

Bit iffy refering to 9Fs as mixed traffic. They would certainly not be used on passenger trains during the winter, except in an emergency. The reason being that none of the Class were fitted with steam heating gear. Surprisingly, Evening Star still retains the steam heat gear which was fitted to it in preservation.

As you have 6880 in your signature it seems strange you are knocking the SSS3 event

i don't think lil Bear is knocking SSS3 at all, he's just repeating information from the Pathfinder website.
SSS3 may well be the first time the Brit is in service on a preserved line in it's new livery.

Not knocking the event, merely pointing out that it wont be the first time to see a Green 70000. At present I'm the only person from 6880 to have posted any facts for this event on here. Noone from the SSS3 organising committee or 6880 board have bothered to. Yet when I helped organise SSS1/2 we were always posting on here (I remember the days of the Betton Boys vs Tanfield Massive for greatest number of posts). Sorry for trying to keep people uptodate.

Don't worry David I don't. If I did I'd have given up railways as a hobby a long time ago.

On the back page of the 'Steel , Steam & Stars III' leaflet - how to find us section, the average stranger to the area would be no wiser after reading this.
Llangollen does not appear on the map, the M55 has now apparently been extended from Preston to Chester via Liverpool & there is a place called Crew ,which is not road - connected. These are very basic mistakes & should not have got past checks before printing thousands of leaflets.

We're tying to keep the foreigners away. I'm rather surprised the leaflet's in English! ;-)
