Well having worked the last few days on the front marquee at Llan end all i can say is a big thank you to all the Gala visitors who are making this event so special. With the very odd exception you have all been great to deal with and seem to have come away with many memories of a great event. On a personal level i managed to get a footplate ride on the Dukedog last night to Carrog which was fantastic and thanks to Will for sorting it out, it made the last few days on the gate worth every bit of time and effort. Im back Thurs for the rest of the Gala so do say hi if you know who the heck i am. To anyone wavering on whether to go just do it and be part of this fantastic event, you wont regret it i assure you.

I have had a fantastic time, sadly i am just quickly checking in on email at my hotel after the day and packing before i head out of town tomorrow morning. Everything has been very enjoyable, it has been great to meet so many members of Nat Pres and the Betton Grange Society.

I won't really have a chance to deal with any photos from the event untill i am home and on a proper computer next week, but its been a great few days for photography.

Anyways, back off the the beer festival and the evening train tonight!!

    -Stephen

Nice to meet you Stephen, i was the guy with long hair you were talking too on the bridge at the beer festival. Thanks for doing some volunteer work to help us out while you were over for your trip. I hope it was well worth the long journey.

Yes I must say it was very nice to meet you on Saturday on our train Stephen even if it was for such a short time. I hope you will remember this trip to the UK for some time.

    Videos from Monday's Cambrian Day and the evening freight charter now uploaded to YouTube;

    Cambrian Day daytime shots: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFmzK0IfMAY&fmt=22

    Freight Charter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1aSCZ8vQaM&fmt=22

Once again many thanks to all involved with the Gala and especially with those involved with the freight charter who went out of their way to ensure that all the photographers got the shots they wanted despite the later than planned departure from Llangollen. Your efforts were very much appreciated.

I will also like to thank the Bretton Grange society and all involved for putting on a superb show, i managed to find one day off in my busy schedule of firing on the Vale of Rheidol and a work placement for uni to visit and even though im shattered now i have to say i had an awsome time, well worth my £25 we went up on the first train on the sunday after a bacon buttie at llangollen managed to ride behind, city of truro, the black 5, mayflower, and the royal scot shame i didnt have more time as i would have liked a ride on the freight, in the auto coach, in the observation car and behind the dukedog, hoping for a SSSIII for this chance and also to attend with our traction engine maybe which would be nice, i have looads of photos of the sunday which are on my facebook if you can get to see them:-

Many thanks you guys for all the kind words!!

This is a quick plea for some help. Is there anyone visiting Llangollen from the Peterborough area who could collect 2,000
more brochures from our printers (Graytones) on Friday afternoon? They are boxed and weigh the same as 4 passengers.
Ideally a Van or Estate Car.

We have had to order more because they are selling fast!

Please phone me on 07989 396577 if you can help.

    Cheers, Quentin

Is there any access to Carrog station during the Gala for those people who just want to look in (spend money in the shops) but not travel at any point?

What a great selection Phil, with the scenery, the locations, the weather and the numerous locos, where else would you get so much variety.

Here's a couple of photos of the Nat Pres train hauled by 6100 on Saturday evening, if you were wondering who some of the people who mod the forum are have a look below unless you are of a more sensitive nature....puts on tin hat... :smt100
