Strathspey extension to Nethy Bridge

    Apart from a few right on the stations further down the valley, most distilleries are still a distance from the villages/ stations so a bus could cover that much easier overall.

    Really? The route to Grantown West is the original Highland Railway Route North...

    The Strathspey cannot go down the Spey valley as it would mean that the bridge that I helped build at Aberlour would need to be demolished.

    Back in 1981 or so I was part of an Army RE unit that erected a Suspension footbridge on the trackbed SW of Aberlour.
    Julia Bradbury made a comment that it swayed a bit.

    I got a right earful from a few upset fishermen about me driving my Tracked Digger up and down the River Spey collecting rocks for the anchorages.
    Can't think why they would be upset at all. ;) :)
